Documentation

KabuForge is an open-source, local-first research framework for Japanese equities. Learn its audience, pipeline, interfaces, and operating limits.

What KabuForge is and who it serves

KabuForge is an open-source, local-first framework for people building and evaluating Japanese-equity research workflows. The current stable release is v0.1.1 (package version 0.1.1, Python 3.12+). It supports factor and strategy research, risk-aware portfolio planning, historical backtesting, and local paper simulation through Python, CLI, desktop GUI, and MCP.

Research pipeline and operating boundaries

The documented flow is Factor → Strategy → TargetPortfolio → Risk → Planner → OrderIntent. The planner produces broker-neutral intents; it does not submit real orders. Local paper fills are simulations, and availability-time checks do not certify complete historical PIT coverage.

Current source candidate on main

The public source branch also contains GUI and research workflow updates at package version 0.2.0rc1. This is an unpublished source candidate, not the stable release. Its GUI courses are available on main; the stable v0.1.1 installation above remains pinned to its release tag.
